THE AERIAL ARMY OF LOVE is an aerial arts group formed by Lara Paxton and based in the Seattle area. This devoted aerial group consists of individuals of all ages and professions, as well as a few that have chosen careers in aerial arts instruction and performance.
The practice of the aerial arts is both spiritual and physical at the same time. The exercise of pulling, pushing, raising, lowering, swinging, and stretching the body and its own weight, builds core strength, long lean muscles, and overall physique like no other form of exercise. Once beginning the aerial arts many prefer not to return to lifting weights or working machines. According to Selene, co-founder of Seattle Aerial Arts, "...practicing and performing aerials is like shedding the heaviness of our physical bodies and letting the inner spirit soar."
